Whole fruit fused olive oils, such as blood orange, lime and lemon are so flavorful because the whole fruit and the olives are crushed together to make these exquisite oils. The tart-sweet flavor cannot be beat.
1/4 cup premium white balsamic vinegar
3/4 cup blood orange olive oil
3-4 tablespoons shallots, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
1/2 teaspoon honey
3 tablespoons orange juice, either fresh squeezed or prepared
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Salt & Pepper to Taste
Place all ingredients in a large jar with a tight lid. Shake vigorously, making sure everything blends well.
Serve right away.
This dressing stores well in the refrigerator for a few days. Bring to room temperature before serving.
Try lime or lemon olive oils instead of the blood orange.
